Children's Hospital Association (CHA) submitted comments to Senate Finance Committee members Bill Cassidy, R-La., Michael Bennet, D-Colo., John Cornyn, R-Texas, and Catherine Cortez Masto, D-Nev., on their bipartisan draft Medicare GME bill that would increase Medicare GME slots.

Our comments focus on ways the bill can be strengthened to better support pediatric training, given that close to half of pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists are trained with support from Medicare GME. The letter specifically highlights the differences between pediatric and adult health care workforce shortages and recommends that any additional slots be distributed in a way that can help bolster the pediatric workforce.
